Colorado Court of Appeals upholds +$40 million judgment in medical/nursing malpractice case
On November 16, 2023, the Court of Appeals of Colorado affirmed Judge Todd Taylor’s judgment in excess of +$40,000,000. The judgment was in favor of the Gresser family, whose daughter C.G. was born healthy at Banner Health’s North Colorado Medical Center. C.G. was flown on a Flight for Life helicopter to Children’s Hospital of Denver just a few days later, after a nurse failed to report the signs of an e. coli infection to a doctor.
The e. coli infection spread and became sepsis and eventually meningitis. C.G. — a beautiful, happy little girl — will now suffer with a life of neurological problems. Despite her many challenges, she is thriving in her own way. The recent judgment of the Court of Appeals brings her family one step closer to never having to worry about being able to afford the best medical care possible to keep her happy and healthy through her life.
